Après le mélodrame concret Tu et Musiques Concrètes 1970-71, Brocoli continue son travail d'édition des œuvres inédites de Michel Chion et s'attarde cette fois sur la période de 1988 à 1991, avec les 10 études de musique concrète, une série de pièces d’intérieur obsessionnelles, où alternent le sec et le liquide ; les Variations, qui font voler en multiples éclats un thème de valse ; et enfin les Crayonnés Ferroviaires, pièce-manifeste, une ode au magnétophone et aux possibilités offertes par le micro et la bande magnétique.

Une musique expérimentale lumineuse, vivante et audacieuse.

Brocoli continues to unearth Michel Chion’s unreleased gems, after the concrete melodrama Tu and the collection of early works Musiques Concrètes 1970-71. This time it focuses on the period from 1988 to 1991, starting with 10 études de musique concrète, a series of obsessive pieces, sounding in turns dry and liquid. While Variations smashes a waltz theme to pieces, Crayonnés Ferroviaires is a work and manifesto, an ode to the tape recorder and to the possibilities offered by the microphone and magnetic tape.

A bright, lively and bold experimental music.
